As bingo halls across England prepare to re-open this weekend, one of those ensuring the safety of players and staff, is Mecca Bingo. Mecca bingo are one of several venues across England that have spent the last few weeks making adjustments to their bingo halls in order to be able to re-open this weekend. So what exactly is going to be different and how will your bingo hall experience change?
New look Mecca Bingo
Although everyone is excited about the re-opening of bingo halls, things aren’t quite going to be the same as before. Extensive changes have been brought in to ensure venues are ‘covid compliant’ in accordance with the Governments guidelines. Mecca, along with other venues in the country, have brought in several changes players need to be aware of before heading out this weekend. These new measures include:
- Social distancing queues with markers outside showing appropriate distancing between players
- Hand sanitisers upon entry and throughout the venue
- A programme of thorough cleaning of stations and any equipment
- Closure of certain areas and chairs to give appropriate distance between players
- Limited number of players inside
- Disinfection of seating areas, tables and equipment after each player use
- Increased capacity for contactless payments
- One way systems within the venue
Reduced menus and pre-ordering system
Mecca have also reduced their food menu and provided tablets at each table so that players can order refreshments from their table, reducing the number of people walking around. They have also introduced a pre-ordering system whereby players can pre-order food and drinks before they arrive. Along with these, there will also be Perspex barriers up at the bar and reception areas and staff will have received full training on the new guidelines and measures in place. With all the changes made to ensure staff and players are as safe as possible, we’re sure that the re-opening of bingo halls in England this weekend, will be greatly welcomed after being closed for the last 14 weeks!
