A recent bingo winner has proven that you don’t need to spend a fortune on your favourite game to win big. Scooping a massive £3.4million jackpot in the Iceland Bingo Millionaire Genie game, 26 year old single mum, Anne Marie Farrar, now plans to take her children to Disneyland with her winnings. Anne Marie won the jackpot with just a 15p bet. The winnings have helped her move from rented accommodation in Sowerby Bridge, to a semi-detached 3 bedroom home in Halifax which cost just £150,000. She is also planning on learning to drive and buying a Volkswagen Golf.
No big plans for new millionaire
The win comes two years after Anne Marie started playing bingo for a bit of fun. However, she has no plans to leave work and wants to stay grounded despite becoming a millionaire. Talking about how she plans to spend the money, she said: “I went to the Lake District last weekend with a friend and we had a few nice meals out and drinks but nothing too extravagant. I know how I live my life will change as I have so many more opportunities for me and the children which is lovely. It is a huge win but I want to stay grounded. I don’t think it will change me as a person.” The bingo win is the second largest in the UK to be won so far. Anne Marie isn’t the only person to win big and stay grounded. A couple who won £6.9million on the National Lottery stated that the money would be used to ensure their family’s lives were safe and secure. With huge jackpot games being offered all the time, it has never been easier to win big with such low stakes. Anne Marie’s winning story serves as inspiration that life-changing things do happen to good people.
