The £140k jackpot was won by the 36 year old Royal Mail worker, after she staked just 75p during an online Mecca Bingo game. She couldn’t believe her luck and didn’t initially realise how much she had won. The player, who wishes to remain anonymous but whose bingo name is Key121212, is from Rugby and used to play regularly at her Northampton Mecca Bingo until National Lockdown’s forced bingo halls in the UK to close their doors. She then began playing online, and from just one 75p game, she saw her winnings rising and rising until she hit the £140,242,28 jackpot!
Plans for the future
With such a big win, the mum of four said that she would love to treat her children to a trip to Disneyland when everyone is able to travel again, and also wants to treat them to new games consoles. She also said that she planned to buy the council house she is currently living in and will be able to do so without needing a mortgage, which will be a huge relief and set her up for the future. 
Another expense she now doesn’t need to worry about, is her car which recently broke down. She now plans on buying a larger 7 seater in order to comfortably fit her and her children in. The working mum spoke about how she’s trying her best to be a good parent to her kids, whilst working and earning a living at the same time. She said “It is hard trying to work like you do not parent and parent like you do not work”.
