Northern Lights Gaming is a relatively new software developer to add its name to the highly competitive online casino industry, but in little over a year, the company has already made quite the impact. Strategic partnerships with the likes of Scientific Games and Yggdrasil have been a huge help to enhancing Northern Lights’ reputation, but it also speaks volumes for the quality of the developer’s games that such high-profile names came aboard so quickly. 
Rocky’s Gold
Northern Lights Gaming’s first release was Rocky’s Gold, a prehistoric themed slot with a real sense of fun to it. A cartoon style design concept brings this five-reel slot to life beautifully, and offers a stone age party with some fun gameplay features to be found. Speaking of the release of Rocky’s Gold, CEO of Northern Lights Gaming, Andy Goodale, said: “The main decision we had to make was to not go out and reinvent the wheel on the first game. The temptation to do a completely new different type of game for your first development is huge but has lots of pitfalls. We talked internally and decided that we would do a game that’s got proven mechanics, that works in the main market we are focusing on but also had a slight twist just to give it that edge.”
What’s next?
Speaking of the future of Northern Lights, Mr Goodale explained that there were no current plans to step outside of the slot market, and that towards the end of the year, players will be introduced to an “evolution” of the games and features offered by the developer. It’s early days for Norther Lights Gaming, but based on what they’ve released so far, and what could be on the horizon, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on this developer.
