bet365 has announced the closure of bet365 Bingo after 18 years. The long-running online bingo service officially closed on 25 August 2026.
The operator launched bet365 Bingo in 2008, although the closure does not affect customers’ existing accounts. Players can continue to access bet365’s sportsbook, casino and other gaming products, while several bingo-style Live Dealer games are available through the Casino.
The closure follows Pragmatic Play’s decision to withdraw from its bingo operations. Pragmatic Play powered bet365 Bingo since 2022, but announced in June that it would be discontinuing Bingo, Sportsbook and Virtual Sports following a strategic review.
bet365 Bingo Had Operated Since 2008
bet365 launched bet365 bingo in 2008, and it remained active for 18 years. For much of that period, bet365 Bingo was operated on Playtech’s Virtue Fusion network. In October 2022, bet365 ended its longstanding partnership with Playtech and transferred its bingo platform to Pragmatic Play.
The move marked a new chapter for bet365 Bingo, with a revamped platform and a larger selection of bingo rooms and games. Pragmatic Play introduced a new bingo portfolio, including traditional 90-ball and 75-ball games alongside titles such as Drop Pots.
At the time, bet365 appeared enthusiastic about the new direction. The company spoke of improving the experience for its bingo community, while the new platform provided low-priced tickets and opportunities to further develop the product.
Four years later, bet365 Bingo has closed.
Why Has bet365 Bingo Closed?
In June 2026, Pragmatic Play announced its withdrawal from Bingo, Sportsbook and Virtual Sports following a strategic review. The supplier will continue to concentrate on Slots, Live Casino, Crash and RNG products.
Operators across Pragmatic’s Bingo network were prompted to secure alternative bingo platforms. Panda Bingo, UK Bingo and Chit Chat Bingo migrated to ProgressPlay in July, with Playtech supplying the bingo platform.
bet365 took a different approach and decided to close its dedicated Bingo services rather than move to another provider.
Wider Changes Taking Place at bet365
bet365 continues to restructure other areas of its business. In September, the company announced plans to cut around 340 jobs, about 3% of its workforce. Approximately 300 positions are expected to be affected in Stoke-on-Trent, with a further 40 across Malta and Gibraltar.
bet365 pointed to an increasingly competitive trading environment and rising regulatory and tax-related costs. The operator described the changes as part of its ongoing review of the business, with a focus on its long-term future.
Remote Gaming Duty increased from 21% to 40% in April 2026, while remote betting duty will increase the effective tax rate on sports betting from 15% to 25% in 2027.
Online bingo is subject to Remote Gaming Duty. The Bingo Duty was abolished on 1 April 2026, but HMRC confirmed that remote bingo in the UK remains liable for Remote Gaming Duty.
There is no evidence tax changes were the deciding factors in the closure of bet365 Bingo. They do, however, form part of the wider commercial environment in which bet365 is reviewing costs and restructuring areas of its business.
bet365 Continues to Expand
bet365 continues to pursue growth in regulated international markets despite restructuring other areas of the business. The operator entered France in June after securing approval from the Autorité Nationale des Jeux, describing the launch as part of its broader international expansion strategy.
The French launch reflects bet365’s strategy of investing in regulated markets with long-term growth potential, while reviewing costs and operations elsewhere in the business.
What Happens Next for bet365?
Bet365 has decided to cease operating bet365 Bingo, and there are no indications of appointing a new bingo supplier or relaunching the service at a later date.
Attention is likely to remain on the areas where bet365 is currently investing. The company continues to develop its presence in regulated international markets, including its recent launch in France, while restructuring areas of its established operation.
The next few years will see further changes to the UK gambling market. Higher taxation, regulatory requirements, and intense competition place increasing pressure on operators regarding how they allocate resources.
As no replacement supplier has been announced, nor has bet365 indicated any plans to relaunch its dedicated bingo service. Unless that position changes, the closure marks the end of bet365 Bingo.
