How to play 30-ball bingo

Of the different types of bingo, 30-ball bingo is one of the fastest and, some would say, the most fun. As its name suggests, the game uses far fewer balls than popular variations of bingo such as 90-ball or 80-ball bingo, so the game’s very fast-paced and requires you to pay a lot of attention; it can also be very exciting and fun.

How 30-ball bingo is set up

The setup of the game is easy to understand. There are 30 balls in total, numbered 1 to 30. The cards you’re given are quite small: there are three columns and three horizontal rows, making a total of nine numbers for you to mark off. In the first column you’ll find numbers 1-10, the second column has 11-20 and the third has 21-30.

The principles of the game stay the same

30-ball bingo is set up in pretty much the same way as other types of bingo. All you have to do is purchase your tickets, personalise the software to how you want it to be and then get ready to enjoy the game. The numbers are decided by an RNG (random number generator). Every time a ball is called, the automated voice of the caller will announce it. The balls are announced just as often as they would be during 90-ball or 80-ball bingo; even though 30-ball bingo is faster, it’s not because the balls are announced any faster, but because there are fewer balls in total. You’ll find that 30-ball bingo is sometimes known as ‘speed bingo’ because it usually lasts a lot less time than 80-ball bingo and 90-ball bingo. While the computer will automatically mark the numbers off for you, you’ll find that some sites let you mark them off yourself. If you want to relax and not worry about keeping with what numbers have been called, you can relax and let the computer do it for you. The computer will even let you know if you’ve won – even if you’re filling the numbers in yourself and happen to miss one, the computer will still be keeping track of your numbers and will let you know if you’ve won.

Full house win only

One of the main ways in which 30-ball bingo differs from the other types of bingo is that there is only one way to win and that is by getting full house. In other words, you have to mark off all nine numbers to win. 30-ball bingo is great if you want a quick and easy bingo game, but some prefer the larger games because they last longer and offer more chances of winning. Not all sites offer 30-ball bingo so if it’s something you want to play, you’ll have to look round a bit to find out what sites offer it.

Ticket prices and the best sites to play

A great example of a site that offers 30-ball bingo is Bob’s Bingo, which also offers 75-ball, 80-ball and 90-ball bingo. You can purchase tickets or pre-buy them for just 1p. The site’s 30-ball bingo room is called the City Hall and it’s only available for funded players. Of course prices do vary from site to site, so again you’ll probably have to look round if you’re after the cheapest place to play. You’ll notice how jackpots also vary from site to site, though with 30-ball bingo that the jackpots on average tend to be smaller than the jackpots for larger games of bingo.
